A recap of our student’s experience is written by Leanē Groenewald:

Nine Year 12 Business students attended the “Business is Awesome” workshop held at The University of Auckland’s Manukau Campus.

The workshop consisted of three main sessions. The first session covered what the day would entail, with an icebreaker activity where participants discussed their skills and why they were
attending. After a morning tea break, the second session focused on the problems entrepreneurs aim to solve, and each group brainstormed potential solutions.

Following lunch, the third session involved developing a business idea to solve the chosen problem. Groups received feedback from other groups and had the chance to pitch their ideas. At the end of the day, participants voted on their favourite business idea, determining the winner.

Overall, the workshop was a fun, creative, and educational experience that allowed participants to think outside the box and engage in teamwork. It was enjoyable, and the opportunity to hear
other creative ideas made it even more interesting. The students would definitely attend again if given the chance.
