Students of Rural Health Aotearoa are a club of tertiary students majoring in a range of health professions who visited Pukekohe High recently and showcased various roles in the health industry. The tertiary students, some who come from rural backgrounds themselves, gave a 1.5 hour interactive workshop with fun activities teaching our students about human anatomy, medical imaging, blood pressure, CPR, cleaning wounds and reflexes. This was a great example of real experiences in studying medicine, displayed through practical techniques that are used in rural health careers.
