Never would I imagine I would be fortunate enough to experience the beautiful country of Kenya. I’ll forever be grateful for such an eye-opening, heartfelt and inspiring adventure.
A few of the many memories I’ll never forget is of course the beautiful animals at the savannah. As blessed as life already was we were fortunate to see the many well renowned creatures, some of which include the elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard as well as the lion and many others living in the savannah.
Another highlight for me would be the children and teenagers that we met throughout our journey. Whether we met them at Olare Owang Primary School, Braeburn High School, as well as the kids we passed while driving through different communities. The kids we would drive past would always give us a huge smile and a wave which always felt welcoming!
Being able to experience such a different lifestyle and upbringing to what I have personally experienced living in New Zealand, was a real eye-opener. This experience helped me realise that every place is unique and taught me to always be grateful for what I receive.
Thinking back to my trip to Kenya, I’ll 100% miss and cherish every experience I receive and will never forget our Family at the Mara Expedition Camp who cared and loved us during our stay.
Ngaa mihi, Asante Sana and Thank you Celestielle Travel, Great Plains Foundation and sponsors for our beautiful trip to Kenya.
The travelling group would also like to convey the following message:
We also want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our family and friends who supported us through our fundraising events. Their generous contributions made is possible for us to provide solar panels to Olare Owang Primary School and custom made school shoes from Tabasamu Shoe Distribution to 80 students. These gestures of kindness will leave a lasting impact on these communities and we are forever grateful for the collective effort that made this all possible.
