Students will learn to work individually and collaborately to develop critical thinking skills in relation to a number of contemporary health issues affecting our society today. Students will learn to relate well to others by investigating the impact influencing factors have on these health issues and on different groups in our society.

Course Information

What Knowledge Will I Develop?

Through this course students will analyse health issues that affect the well-being of individuals, others and society. Students will learn to take collective action to enhance student well-being within our school or commmunity. Gender and sexual identity issues are explored and students encouraged to develop strategies that promote social justice for all. Students will evaluate risk and protective factors associated with managing change and building resilience and mental health. Other adolescent health issues covered within this course may include teenage drinking, stress management, and managing relationship conflict.
