Level 3 History
Level 3
Through the study of history students will develop skills in research, interpretation, evaluation, empathy and analysis; these are vital skills for your next stage in education. You will also be encouraged to examine each event/time period we study to evaluate its significance to New Zealand society today.
Course Information
What Knowledge Will I Develop?
There will be an in-depth study into a significant event (previous years have looked at themes such as the Cold War, Nazi Germany and the Waikato War) focusing on the causes and consequences of this event.
In the second half of the year you will become an historian, not just a student of history, and work on your own research inquiry into an area of history that sparks your interest. This independant task will require you to plan, conduct and evaluate your research.
