In Engineering Level 1 students develop communication skills through their use of engineering drawings, and numeracy through working with measurements. They are also expected to critically reflect on their progress and develop solutions to manufacturing problems whilst developing their engineering capabilities and practical skill set.

Course Information

What Knowledge Will I Develop?

In this course students will develop a range practical engineering skills. Students will gain experience working with different metals and gain an understanding of their properties. They will have the opportunity to use hand and machine tools to work towards completing Computenz projects. The coursework covers a range of subtractive manufacturing techniques, such as turning and milling, as well as basic joining methods, including but not limited to, riveting, threading and brazing.
