13COM - Welcome to 13 Computer Studies

Computer Studies/Science is the study of information and Technology (IT). The use of computers has radically changed the way we communicate with each other using sophisticated techniques to deliver messages in print, graphic or multimedia form.

 This course will provide an opportunity for students to achieve qualifications towards National Certificate in Computing (Level 3) – a qualification that will lead to further learning or employment opportunities in a range of related industries.

National Certificate in Computing (Level 3):

  • Builds upon Level 2 computing qualifications;
  • Provides flexibility for industry to specify knowledge and skills from their specific interests and environment while retaining a core of intermediate level computing competencies;
  • Provides students with an opportunity for further study in computing and related areas, as well as for initial employment using computers;
  • Leads to the National Certificate in Computing (Level 4) or one of the national Diplomas in Computing at Levels 5, 6 and 7.

Personalised Learning Approach
